Centennial Fountain Fifth of November

2003
This commemorative fountain, commissioned by Manzanillo International Terminal for the 100th anniversary of Panama’s Independence, stands in front of the administration building in Colón. A four-sided pyramid represents the cardinal points and global port activity, with water flowing over Chagres River stones—a nod to the historic Atlantic-Pacific route. Diagonal water jets and a surrounding basin with seating evoke interconnected movement and offer a peaceful retreat within the busy port environment.
