The designs for functional artworks, like the furniture, doors and gates highlighted here often incorporate found objects, used both
for their formal qualities and story-telling properties. The repurposing of objects related to the natural and cultural history of a place is of particular interest to me. Many of the components in the furniture, gate and door design are salvaged from early Panama Canal and Railway sites undergoing modernization. The commissioned work is developed through conversations with the client, and designed to reflect their unique stories.
