Sculptures

I am interested in playing with the physical properties and metaphorical possibilities of a material. The sculptures are abstractions, assemblages of ideas, sensations and sometimes objects, that arise from my curiosity and reflection about a topic or a place. I often work in series, returning to an idea over time, exploring it in different ways.
The series ”Topographic Compilations” includes unique bronze casts of cardboard collages. Each work layers the real and imagined histories and perspectives of a place in shifting relationships.
The series of cast aluminum and bronze sculptures suggest wings and other natural forms as regenerative life forces.
The series ”Heroes, Saints and Angels” examines the concept of apotheosis: humanity’s search for immortality and deification.
The series of ”Tell me where it hurts” uses language and visual metaphor to reflect on how we embody human experience.
