Cast aluminum
22″ x 10″ x 8″
This cast aluminum sculpture is part of a series inspired by the myth of the Phoenix. The metaphor of resurrection through fire makes reference to the process of direct sand casting, whereby the original styrofoam model is transformed into cast metal. In this series, I reference plant and wing forms to explore ideas of natural forces and the transformation of energy.
